What happens while I'm waiting for my prepayment meter to be switched?

We can arrange to switch your prepayment meter for a credit meter. Top up the prepayment meter in the mean time and we'll refund you for it.

You'll need to top up your prepayment meter until the meter can be swapped over. 

Prepayment meters top up points can vary between suppliers: 


- At your local paypoint.
- At your local post office or,
- Some suppliers allow you to top up online or via their app.

To top up in a Paypoint store, you will need to take the meter card or key that was given to you via post from the current provider to the Paypoint, if you have not received the meter key or card please get in touch with us as soon as possible. 

Once you top up, please upload a photo of the receipt to your dashboard. You'll get a full refund within 5 working days of submitting your receipt.

If you top up your meter online or via an app, upload the top-up confirmation to your dashboard. You'll get a full refund of all prepayment meter top-ups within 5 days of your request being received.

Make sure you get proof in the form of receipt or confirmation email. Without a receipt or confirmation, we can't issue a refund.
